Episode #49: 1832 Timeline Twist & The Murder of Polly Button

12/4/2024: On today’s episode, Valerie’s 1832 Timeline Twist features a re-elected president who threatened military action against a US state to enforce tariffs (yes, in 1832), a distillery in the Whiskey Capitol of the World, an accidental famous Viennese culinary specialty, and one of the most 1800’s Acts ever passed as a direct reaction to body snatchers. Next, Amy Jo presents the atrocious murder of Polly Buttons, a young, skilled button worker, unlucky in love, and struggling to care for her five children. In a story all too familiar, she was betrayed by her love (and his jealous wife?), her life unceremoniously cut short, and her plight immortalized in a nursery rhyme that is CREEPY AF!
