Episode #91: 1873 Timeline Twist & The Fiery Chronicles of Alexandra Palace

8/11/2026: On today’s episode, Valerie outlines some major events from 1873 in the Timeline Twist, including; beer, a new pair of jeans (ooh-la-la), Greek JLo, the introduction of a new garden party game for those who are “skilled at playing at ball”, a song about ham, “Home on the Range”, and new rules for dog shows. Next, Amy Jo tells the story of the “People’s Palace”, or “Ally Pally”, which opened this year and had EVERYTHING - art, dog, flower, and horse shows, athletics, archery, and pigeon races, an inaudible concert, and fireworks. Not to mention a habit of catching on fire. But firefighting in the Victorian Era was tricky, especially with a palace on a hill.
