Episode #45: 1798 Timeline Twist & The Spittin' Lyon

11/6/2024: On today’s episode, Valerie’s 1798 Timeline Twist presents a hunk of French Warcake (with some Irish rebellion frosting), a QVC worthy “1798 Ink Collection” with shimmering flecks of silver for an elegant finish, we take a peek at some “Summer of ‘98” fashion influencers, enjoy some gothic fine arts, and uncover some racy new words of the year. Next, Amy Jo covers The Spittin’ Lyon, a truly self-made immigrant son of Ireland, who during his military service was “Cashiered for Cowardice”, but worked his way up to the US House of Representatives, got into a famous altercation on the house floor, and was then thrown in the slammer for violation of the Sedition Act of 1798 due to his publication which, in our opinion, was the best newspaper title of all time.
