Next, Amy Jo tells the hilarious story of the brief secession of the Republic of Rough and Ready, California; a group who struck gold immediately but disagreed w/ the taxation, they were quick to sign a new constitution, but REALLY didn’t think things through. We discover other secession movements of the past and present and the ridiculous but relatable reason Rough & Ready changed their minds.
